Christina Melton Crain -
President and CEO of Unlocking DOORS; a reentry advocate for formerly incarcerated persons, families, service providers and the public; and immediate former Chairman of the Texas Board of Criminal Justice.
Commissioner Roy Brooks serving his third term as Tarrant County Commissioner Precinct 1, is the driving force behind the Tarrant County Re-Entry Coalition which is fast becoming a model for other counties in Texas and across the nation.

TDCJ Volunteer Training Session

TDCJ requires anyone wishing to volunteer in the prisons attend a training session every 2 years. The first time you must attend a live session; two years later it can be done online. Then 2 years later it must be live again.

You do not need to have an approval letter from the state or send in an application. You may fill out an application there. If you are an approved TDCJ Volunteer and you have not had training since October 2011, you can renew at this training.

Special Conference Program

Thursday, October 10

On Thursday, October 10, we will eat lunch (included in the registration) at Cornerstone Assistance Network (CAN*).
Following the lunch at the Creation Café**, and a tour of the facility, Mike Doyle, CEO ; Jesse Vasquez, Network Development Director; and Tarrant County Commissioner Roy Brooks will speak followed by a Q&A Session.
*CAN provides relief, recovery and restoration services for families and individuals in Tarrant County, Texas, who need a Hand UP, not a Handout. Programs are case management-based and include Emergency Services, Housing, Reentry, Medical and Job Training. An onsite Thrift Shop is open to the public and includes a food pantry for those in need.
**Creation Café, a Social Entrepreneurship of Cornerstone, is designed to provide Food Service/Hospitality training for men and women with multiple barriers to employment. Quality, nutritious meals are served to the community for a nominal donation, helping to provide self-sustaining income for the ministry and job training for clients.

Manuel Cordero - Correctional Ministries Representative for the General Council of the Assemblies of God and President of COPE’s Board of Directors, served with the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 24 years.
Johnny Moffitt - the Founder and Director of Worldwide Voice in the Wilderness, a ministry that reaches into the prisons of America and around the world. In the late 1960's, he was an officer in one of the largest motorcycle gangs in America.

Prison Evangelistic & Discipleship Services

Saturday morning, October 12, we will go to FMC Carswell, the federal system’s only female medical facility, for a Prison Evangelistic & Discipleship event. Services will take place in the main hospital chapel, ad seg and the camp and lunch will be eaten at the prison.
